The Lafayette Technology Clinic will present its final report on  Economy and Entrepreneurship in the Slate Belt  on Wednesday May 12 at the Washington Township Elementary School in Bangor PA at 6:30PM.

The Tech Clinic has worked on this study for several months, at the request of the Slate Belt COG and Business Incubator Task Force.  Their mid-term report focused on accelerating job development by focusing on various industries, including green technology.   One particular product has been presented as an example of an industry that might find a home in the Slate Belt.  This presentation should be of interest to all of us who want to grow industry and produce jobs within the Slate Belt Communities.

At the request of the Business Incubator Task Force, the Tech Clinic agreed to expand their analysis to include ways to ease access for industry to locate or relocate within the Slate Belt Communities.  They are interviewing individuals to understand the current processes, and will present ideas on how to streamline the processes, as well as suggestions on how a ‘facilitator’ might help navigate the existing or improved processes.

The seven students from different ‘schools’ within Lafayette, along with their three academic advisors, used a multi-faceted approach to problem solving.  Their enthusiasm and creativity resulted in a very professional presented mid-term report, and we encourage all interested citizens of the Slate Belt to join us for their final report on May 12, 2010.
